Article on underrated games?

Postby Average Bear1 on Sun Jul 10, 2011 12:09 am

I've only just got back into the mag after a year or so of not reading, but it would be good to throw in articles us forumites have written on underrated games and why readers should give them a chance. If I remember correctly there was an underrated games thread already...

I didn't realise I'd already posted this exact suggestion.

An article in the mag would be good. Each month do a different one.

Perhaps it could be alternated with Club 360, as with the likes of Fear 2 and ODST listed as so called classics, it might be nice to give it a ley-period.

Anyway, i vote Mercenaires 2!

Especially in an issue that's a bit thin on new releases..

It gives you a chance to reassess something that may have either been competely missed at retail or turned out to be influential or had hidden depths/cult status.

I agree - I still play Mercenaries 2 every month or so for a bit of light relief from the more hardcore games - same with original Crackdown (which has already been in the mag as a classic i know)

Phew...thought it was just me.

Mercs 2 has now been superceeded by Just Cause 2 for silly action stuff, but that said its still the only game you can call in a nuke and then run away from the blast. Magic.

Too true, i have started a different character recently to go after cheevs in the game again as my longest playthrough missed a few from my own silliness. The explosions and instant action in camps or military bases and cities or jungle villages isnt bested by many games, its like Farcry 2 but much more fun.
