Additional Co-Op Ratings?

Postby matchstickgeezer on Thu May 27, 2010 10:17 pm

With a large number of newer games coming with seperate co-op modes, would it be at all possible to add a small addition to the rating section of every review so that we can see how good the co-op gaming is?

While I realise this wouldnt be possible for all of the games coming out, myself and my friends are always looking for the best co-op experiences. There isnt really any feature or ranking for this part of gaming at present?

Sorry if this has been mentioned on the forum before in the past!

Thank You

Like the co-op review of Splinter Cell:Conviction in the very latest issue?

I think that if a game has co-op - provided its offline - it should come under or contribute to the score given before the game goes under the Live Style section's scrutiny. I like the current system of almost completely disregarding a game's online side and focussing purely on the offline stuff in the reviews section of 360, as I don't play online. So if a game gets a glowing review in the reviews section, I know that it in know way is influenced by the online stuff that I'll never experience.

Hello again

While I appreciate (and enjoy) the newly revamped xbox live section of the mag, and have always enjoyed the livereview pages, what I meant was for every co-op game to have a score featured with their main review.

Its only an idea, but I know that myself and a few friends would certainly like this, as we can choose which co-op games we buy as a group.

Eg: Lost Planet 2 I wouldnt say is a great single player, maybe 3 stars... but the multiplayer could be 5 stars... therefore I would see the review and decide whether to buy it as a co-op experience.

Sorry to be a pain.. only submitting a general idea s the forum suggests.

I think the problem there might be that when the mag gets review code the online co-op might not be up and running properly (I might be wrong but I've always thought that's the reason we get online reviews at a later date).

I see the point, and I guess it would be time consuming to have 2 members of the 360 team running through in co-op.

perhaps a co-op feature with ratings of the top 25 would be good?

Thanks

You mean like another Xbox mag banging on about Battlefield Bad Company 2 being so orgasmic and quite obviusly meaning its online play rather than SP campaign. Side point , sorry - As a non-XBL user at mo, im fed up to the back teeth of developers giving me the bloody short straw on stuff like this. I can understand online play represents a good portion of the game for some people. BUT a 5-6 hour campaign like BC2with minimum re-play factor and no local multiplayer or extras is still not acceptable for a full price game IMO. Sort it out developers!

As for the original point, i think you made a good one there Ven, id agree wholeheartedly.
