How about telling us why you feel said games are in your top 5?
Makes it far more entertaining to read.

I aint played five games from 2010. Unless you count demos, which I wouldn't.

Oh and no offence, but your top 5 sucks.

I've only played Dante's Inferno and Bayonetta out of the five you've mentioned, and I think Bayonetta is very good and Dante's Inferno ... isn't. Bayonetta was instantly appealing to me - as soon as I found out how to skip the nauseating cut scenes and just get into sticking a heel in some critter's face. Dante's Inferno seemed awkward and somewhat pedestrian by comparison.

I only ever played the Demo of Dante's Inferno, and that put me right off. I agree with the Bayonetta comment though, although I haven't been near it since I finished it, hmm.

The top 5 thing is a good idea, I just can't remember what was this year and what was last year. But ME2 well up there

Absolutely, I'm sure ME 2 will be in the top 5 of many gamers by the end of the year, I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway. I make that comment with some humility though as I only completed it on normal and I know some posters here finished it on insanity. Well done to those chaps!

For me Mass Effect 2 can not even get into my console without me wanting to turn it off.. i just dont like it at all, same with Halo games.

So my reasons are

1) Bioshock 2 - To be back in the place where my XBOX 360 Gaming started was just right for a slow start to the year after a busy busy winter.....The Story was perfect. and to fight the Big Sister was a scary moment and to fight with the Big Sister was just .......................
2) Dante's Inferno - the game play does not get the 2nd spot, but the story and the way it was delivered does. The game play puts it in my top 5 still, never had so much fun with a slasher since Golden Axe.........
3) Alan Wake - A lover of Stephen King and James Herbert - so was right down my ally was this, and enjoyed it from the moment i press tray close to watching all the episodes of the prequel on You Tube.....
4) Bayonetta - Fast and fun. sexy and smooth - and makes me look at librarians a little different.....
5) Fifa 2010 World Cup - Because Fifa is the best and Fifa 11 is not out yet, and fifa 10 was last year.....Fifa has been in my top 5 every year since the very first game...

A visit to the library down here in Havant to check out the staff will rid you of those fantasies right away, Redpizzi! Bless 'em, but Bayonetta-lookalikes they ain't. :D

Isn't it a bit early? Don't these happen at the end of the year (when Fable III and Fallout Thingy Yoke will win / come second, or be cruelly pipped by a shitty Halo thingy)?

Anyway, there's only been two good games so far this year, ME2 and Just Cause 2. Bioshock 2 might just be the worst game ever made.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Mass effect 2 and Just Cause 2 are best games of the year so far.

Mass Effect 2 will only be beaten to best game of entire year if Fallout:New Vegas gets its game face on. Cant see anything else matching its depth, fun or atmosphere.

To be fair, this thread has, despite jumping the gun a bit, at the very least pinned JC2 down as an essential purchase for me in the near future.

Will look to get it on 360 rather than the PC as the minimum spec for Windows = my current PC's spec.

Indeed....its ace to play but has a woeful narrative.

Im still a bit annoyed at ME2, i wish it had taken longer to complete (even though 30 hours is acceptable). That whole universe is just too fantastic to want to leave.

Indeed. There was plenty of meat on the bone but the actual quest felt a bit of a let down once you'd gone through the old whatjamacallit .. I was expecting something as epic as the first game and it did feel a little short.. It's like I've gotten all these people who I like and respect into a well oiled team of respect and large breasts only to find that actually it's all over and done with.
