You really really really really need to do this, so I only have to spend £40, rather than £120... Unless you pay me £80 for the magazine idea, in which case, I don't care if you do it or not, I'll be too busy to read your mag anyway
Good point but I reckon everyone's gonna opt for Forza 3 simply because of the hype machine.
I still think Race Driver: GRID is by far the most enjoyable racer I have ever played. The actual racing is so much fun and as I'm such a fan of drifting, its drift mode and the way it feels when you drift is amazing.
But in terms of the new games:
If you want a really comprehensive racing sim with a bustling online community- Forza 3
NFS: Shift is very niche it seems- it kinda reminds me of GRID though.
Dirt2: This is meant to be incredible but its mostly confined to rally racing.
I think it'll depend on the new 'auto-look' and crash-vision-blur in NFS Shift. On the video footage - it looks astounding, but in practice - I dunno... I've got the Dirt 2 demo down - I'll give it a go tonight I think... I do have a soft spot for Forza though. Doh!
Yeah Forza 2's actual driving wound be up. It was really slow and cumbersome with no sensation of speed. Forza 3 seems to have addressed all those problems but I'm waiting for a proper review.
Well, if the mag is anything to go by, I wouldn't hold my breath, apparently this is the outline for issue 57
Front Cover - Splash Graphic of Next Months' Cover Page 1 - Contents Page 2 - Next Month in the Mag !! Back Cover - Blank page with 'Notes' at the top.
I'd love to see this feature. I don't buy a lot of racing games really, and one is usually enough to last me a good few months. The DiRT 2 demo and it's reviews are more than promising and with a demo of Forza 3 on the way, all I need is a NFS Shift demo and a feature weighing up the 3 games against each other and it'll be a lot easier to make my decision.
