Got any ideas for the magazine? Post them here.

Don't remember if this has been brought up before - in the mag or on the forums - but I'd like to see the Recommended section of the magazine altered a little.

Each category has between 8-10 recommended games in it, but the 360 has so many more games that could be featured. It's rarely updated too, and when it is, obviously older games even if they're awesome - like The Darkness, which EVERYONE should play - get booted out.

Get rid of the box art and little paragraphs and list the good and great games that you think everyone should be playing, along with the ratings you gave them. You took the time to write reviews, score the games and get your opinions across to the readers, only to have them forgotten in a few months; out of sight, out of mind.

One of the other magazines (spit) has a similar section but they show the review score they've given for every game ever released. Only takes up two pages since there haven't actually been that many games on the 360 anyway. Makes sense to me (although obviously I spit on them).
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

360 Gamer does it, but they list EVERY game ever, and highlight a different game from each genre every issue. Obviously this is a little bit excessive, but a list of say all the 3-, 4- and 5-star games would be good (I'll happily try a 1- or 2-star game but most people don't want to know about those........ bob).

I know, just a little playful banter. And it is true, for the most part nobody wants to know about low scoring games (other than to read funny reviews) and a magazine should try and cater to the widest number of people possible.

Nah. Too many magazines are afraid to say a game is completely rubbish (and some of them are - c/f that Vietnam zombie FPS and Godfather II). So they give them 7/10.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

I meant in terms of listing the games they think are good, not actually reviewing them. In the year or so I've been buying 360, I've noticed that if they think a game is crap, they let you know they think it's crap. I'm just saying that in terms of people reading a list of games, they'd generally look at the 5- and 4-star games.

Think of the mags carbon footprint man!

They can't waste paper on that stuff.

If they listed the best games, it'd take up 2 pages at the most, as opposed to the 6 it takes up now. They could save paper, or put something else in the mag. (absent thumbs up symbol)

Fair enough. 4 pages is a lot of space though. Someone mentioned a hardware reviews section, or there's probably a ton of potential things they could put there.

They use to do some hardware reviews back in the good old days when they have triple A staff. ;)

I have to agree with Venomous Albino, I actually used this part of the mag the other day because I wanted to buy a new game but needed to remind myself what I've missed over the past 6 months, but found it quite unhelpful because the majority of the games on there were over 6 months old. It needs an update or a re-think (or complete removal) because at the moment it's just a waste of valuable space.

To be fair with a list of classics there might not have been much released over the last 6 months worthy of inclusion?

Perhaps they could add a "Best of the last 3 months" type page like Q magazine have for albums instead?
