It depends on the game you are playing I guess. If its something that involes skantily clad ladies then I'll go for photo realistic graphics and scratch and sniff pads please...

Mythbusters proved shooting a car wont blow up the gas tank. So game-real. I like making cars go pop.

If we do have war games that achieve photo realism then I sincerely hope the developers start acting with more maturity to their material.

Depends entirely on the game. Something visceral like COD4 benefits from being as close to real as possible.... whereas Mario would just be plain fucking scary if they tried to make it 'real'.

Now that's a good point. And sometimes we want to play with something like Mario, Ratchet, Chrash etc and other times something as real as GTA IV, although that's not "that" real.

Blend FarCry2's visuals with Mass Effect's story and architecture.

In 1600p.

i agree it depends on the game for example GTA IV if it had photo realistic graphics (its not far off) it would be banned, if you were killed in one shot it would get bad reviews for being to hard if it had real days that lasted 24 hours you would never get anything done (when missions are on a timer). Games are played by most because you can do some hillariously silly stuff but to find a balance could make one game the messia and i should know ive followed a few.

What I meant was that when a guy gets shot in the head for example with a 50 cal sniper it should explode not like in a game where he just falls to the floor with a bit of a blood spatter.

i dont beleave 50 cal's cause heads to explode but it would blow off the back of your head and if games were that real there would be a higher reting that 18 for them
