Game Of Thrones

Anyone else looking forward to this? Stuck into the book at the moment but I've got a feeling the series might trump it.

Also - would anyone like to give me odds on Sean Bean dying in the first episode?

Seen the ads, not really sure what it's about, tbh, but I'll be plussing it and will give it a watch.

Sky Atlantic has to be the greatest channel ever.

Even better than BBC3 and ITV2*

I can't believe HBO haven't done a feature on teenage pregnancies, fat kids, Kerry Katona and Jordan

Saw this advertised... I assume it's based on the books by George RR Martin? If so, and they follow the books fairly well, then it should be awesome.

What character is Sean Bean playing?

Don't know - I reckon Ned Stark if he's a main character. If he dies inside five minutes like he does in several big films he's in, then maybe Lord Arryn?

*spoiler*

Then he will indeed die, though not too early on in the series depending upon how closely they follow the books..

Anybody know the date that it's starting? Haven't seen the ad, all I'm really watching on Sky Atlantic at the moment is Entourage.

The Guardians take on it.

When does it start?

Next monday... Though there is a "behind the scenes" type thing on tonight.

Tonights 10 minute "preview" wasn't a behind the scenes thing after all.

It was a prologue to the series...

...and I must say it looks rather good.

Watched the first half hour this morning and it looks like they've got the tone right so far. I'm a bit frustrated with the relatively fast pace of it, but that was to be expected, there's no other way they'd condense that book into a single season otherwise. Ned and Catelyn Stark are older than I'd envisaged, the Queen - younger, Robert is older, fatter and smaller. I think they've nailed the White Walkers though, they're even more sinister than I imagined.
