What do you expect? Unlike Piranha 3D which is great because it's a big dumb fun film, ResEv is terrible because it takes itself seriously and fails miserably and utterly. Now, I haven't seen the third film because I can't be bothered so unless you somehow like the film series (and shame on you) then you will love this. The 3D effects are actually good because it's not a conversion. But it can't hide ropey CGI, crappy zombies, flimsy plot, cheesy acting and even cheesier psuedo-bullet time effects which have been out of fashion since the the mid noughties. And Milla Jovovich sounds like she's been smoking crack between takes. And they copied Wesker's fight scenes from RE5 and the zombie designs from 4, but not to good effect.

Dinner With Schmucks -

It's pretty funny but it strongly depends on how much of Steve Carrell you can stomach. When he plays a retard, he's hilarious (see Anchorman) but when he plays almost serious, he sucks (don't see that spy film he did with The Rock). This is more on the tard side and the gags are often hilarious, especially the scene-stealing done by The Hangover's Zach Galifinakis. Paul Rudd is a decent lead but the more cynical of you would probably cast this off as one of those typical Steve Carrell/Paul Rudd comedies. The actual dinner scene is great.

Salt -

Did I already review this? Anyway, it's your typical thriller/action movie about government conspiracies and sleeper agents. Reminds me of those CIA Tom Clancy films but not as good as Patriot Games etc. Angelina Jolie is undoubtedly a good actress and it feels like her movie but it's just not particularly good. Not terrible either.

All the resident Evils are shite...

Schmucks looks mediocre...

Salt, just not bothered. Jolie is a good actress but im sick of the bloody sight of her (probabaly the tabloids fault). Plus never been convinced that someone who weighs as much as an envelope full of air could actually physically over power someone in a fight. Dunno why.

The Town -
A fairly decent cop/heist/thriller movie. The trailer basically tells you the entire plot. Very predictable but does have good acting in it, particularly from the guy who's gonna play Hawkeye in The Avengers.

Buried -
You will either not get it, and thus hate it, or you will appreciate how effective it is and how well made considering the limitations it puts on itself and thus will like it, like I did. It is a harsh, brutal film, not for the squeamish. It makes for an uncomfortable watch, as it is only Ryan Reynolds trapped in a coffin for the entire runtime. Claustrophobic tense, it's not for everyone but its worth checking out if you're after something different.
If you have some spare dosh and are bored, go see it by yourselves, don't go in groups because it's not that kind of social experience movie like a comedy for example.

Devil -
A standard, not scary horror movie from the rapidly deteriorating mind of M. Night. Shyamalan. The premise; 5 people trapped in an elevator, one of them is a Mr. Lucifer, is a pretty cool idea. It makes for fun guessing games as to who the devil is, and you'll change your mind a few times. Save it for a home rental, don't bother going to the cinema to see. Not terrible though.

Eat Pray Love -

Julia Roberts finds herself in Asia, where she spiritually tries to....find herself.
For dates and other womanly needs.

Self-obsessed twaddle. Oh aren't you great love, you fucked off from your family and endured the hardship of travelling the world eating nice food. Fucking awful. Pish.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Middle class culture porn. Its same as Sex in the City 2, etc, how are you suposed to feel sorry for rich succesful characters who have mind numbingly inane non- problems and need to "go and find themselves". I cant.

Saw a Relocation.Relocation yesterday to same effect. Pair of London types, wanting at £650,000 house by sea (but with lots of caveats) and £250,000 london flat (in nice area with 3 beds! get a grip!, with lots of caveats again) and because they cant find one im supposed to feel sorry for them? Feck off. You could afford to pay a estate agent to ponce around looking at properties. How about we have a show where Channel 4 help someone get on the property ladder? i.e someone who ACTUALLY NEEDS THE HELP and lives in the real world.

Plus Julia Roberts.....shes mediocre anyway.

The problem here being that women are never happy with what they've got.

They wanted the vote. They got it.

They wanted careers. They got it.

They wanted to have careers and kid and they can probably juggle that too.

And when it turns out that isn't what they wanted either they want to Eat Pray Love. I'm sure about five minutes after the woman finished writing the book and five minutes after Julia Roberts made the movie they decided that eating, praying and loving wasn't what they wanted either.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps -

I was shocked at how much attention this film was getting, as the original came out when I was born and for some reason I have no recollection of it, even though I am an evil genius. It was even selling out, so I had to watch the first film in preparation. While much of the stock exchange jargon flew right over my head, it's an enjoyable rags-to-riches film, much like Scarface, just without the violence and cocaine, and Charlie Sheen is already rich. The second film sees Michael Douglas' awesome character, Gordan Gekko released from prison and taking on Shia The Beef under his wing. It's not as interesting as the first film, but it's a good sequel. So go see it if you liked/understood number 1.

At the risk of sounding controversial, i think we havent seen Shia The Beefs full acting range yet, hes defeinetly got potential. OK he was crap in Indy and Trnsformers isnt for everyone but hes a promising actor, given the right role.

Red -
A good action film, lots of humour, great cast. Fun.

The Social Network -
A film about an a$$hole. Interesting if you want to know how Facebook was set up. Boring if you don't care. Also, the film is depressingly bleak; mostly due to the cinematography. It's so bloody dark all the time!

Despicable Me -
Not seen all of it yet, but it's a very good CG animated film. Funny, great animation, good times. If you don't like Steve Carell, don't worry so much, it's only his voice and he's putting on an accent.

Skyline -
Typical B movie Alien invasion type stuff. Alien designs and CG are not that bad. Acting and general look of things, bad. It's directed by the guys who directed Alien vs Predator: Requiem. That should tell you all you need to know. Wait till it's shown on Bravo in a few years. Don't pay to watch.

Saw 3D -
Only seen bits of it. If you like Saw, you'll like this. More of the same crap. Interesting trap designs and fun and gory but the 3D effects are almost entirely non-existent.

Paranormal Activity 2 -
Again, not seen all of it but essentially it's the same as the first one. I loved the first one personally as I thought it was an excellent way of using almost no budget to generate big thrills and chills and it was done cleverly. The sequel ups the ante with multiple cameras and more characters.

Do you get out much? That's about 15 fillums in 4 days.

Me - The Social Network - ok, bit too dull and business talking stuff for my liking. Also didn't like the cheesy JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS EEEEEEEVIL bits*.

Starter for Ten - Meh. Nowhere near as good as the book.

* Nearly did the close up of the shifty eyes
If in doubt, put the kettle on.
