Trading In?

Postby FireHotStickies on Thu Jul 29, 2010 3:41 pm

I've never really traded in any of my games before but I have 5 or 6 which are just collecting dust on my shelf.

Where's the best place to go, who gives you the most money ? I know it depends on the game and condition but how much do you think I would get for 5 or 6 games?

As you said, it depends on the game, but in my personal experience, Blockbuster is the best in most cases.
Although Gamestation does offer a guarantee to give you a quid more than any other offer, keep in mind they mean the take home price, which is, I think, 40% of what you get if you take store credit.
I always check different shops when trading in, and I have found that, as trade-ins aren't Blockbusters speciality, they are usually slow on the draw when the price of a game goes down.
For example, Blockbuster bought MW2 off me for £25 (store credit), when Gamestation were selling it for that much.
Unless games are relatively new releases, you won't get anything for them(sometimes a few quid), and I find it better to just keep them if they offer you a truly disgraceful amount.
I did this when I was gonna trade in GH3(Guitar+game), and GH world tour)Game, guitar, drums, and microphone).
You know what they offered me?
£35! AAAAHHHH!
Hope I helped.
I just bought some Sainsburys sausages, there's a
picture of Jamie oliver on the front, on the back it says "p r i c k with a
fork."Can't argue with that!

Haha, yeah thanks for the quick response.

All the games I am thinking of trading in are over 2 years old. I also had a look on ebay to see what sort of prices I would get, but they were all below £5 I think. Like I said, they are just lying on my shelf, if I could get rid of them for £20 that would be good but maybe I might aswell keep them.

Btw, the games I am selling are:

Flatout Ultimate Carnage
GRAW 2
Midnight Club LA
Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box
Army of Two
Fifa 07
Street Fighter IV

Also, do you think if I sold them as a bundle on ebay instead of individual items, that they would reel in more cash?

You might, but since they are pretty decent games that have been out quite a bit, you will struggle to find someone that wants to buy them all.

Yeah, I found someone on ebay that got £9.50 for Burnout last night, so I will definitely be selling that individually lol :).

How much you selling GRAW 2 for? I've always wanted to play it.
I don't usually buy used games off the internet, but I might, depending on the price.
