Got HaX'd, need info.

So basically someone used 2400 of my Microsoft Points to download Call of Duty 4. This didn't appear on the recently downloaded list or anything. Just happened to notice my Points were suddenly very low. I went online and found the aforementioned info on my billing page. Contacted Microsoft support etc and the situation is this:
They've locked my account while their team of super detectives investigate it as a fraud case. They said it could take up to 30 days and so have given me a code for 30 day free Xbox Live trial. I'm not gonna use it yet.
My question therefore is as follows: If I unlock achievements while my account is locked, will they still register when I'm back online? Will they sync, or will I have wasted my time unlocking them? I've heard horror stories of achievements being cancelled once the account is reactivated. Something similar to this happened to me before when there was a glitch in Fallout 3 and I had to recovered my gamertag. Once I did, they discounted the last few achievements (including finishing the main quest arrghh!!) but I still had the saved data obviously.
Has anyone else had their account suspended or locked like this? Will my precious achievements be ok or will I cry you a river?

Think you may be the first on the forum to have been 'got'. Wonder if this means it's more widespread than I thought or just an unlucky coincidence?

It's alright, sorted it out. Contacted customer support again (this time on a windows live messenger thing) and told them the situation. Unfortunately, it looks like my fears were right. Any achievements unlocked during the Live lock will be discounted once I'm back online. The support person said I'd have to get them again. Luckily I haven't unlocked any since the investigation started but it does mean no Skyrimming for at least 2 weeks, maybe more.

The expert fraud team took fucking ages to investigate my account, I can't remember how long it was but it was a lot longer than 30 days, probably closer to 4 months, and I didn't get anywhere until I started emailing some higher-ups at M$, then once one of them replied to me all of a sudden I was getting contacted left right and centre from the fraud team.

Their investigations team is seriously bad. Hah

Noooo don't say that! I read similar things on forums. That's worrying.

There was this so-called "Fifa12" hack going on in October last year. Someone would get your account, steal Microsoft Points, download Fifa12, unlock 3 achievements, then disappear.

Can you not play offline?

No. I already explained, it's cos of the achievements. If I play my 360 and unlock achievements, they will be reset once I regain control of my account. And I don't want to progress through Rage and Skyrim without being logged into my account.

I just switched on my 360, and it's still online. Don't know why. Maybe the fraud team hasn't started their investigation. I stopped playing once I got an email the day after I spoke to the customer support line, because despite what she said, I was still online after our phone conversation, and I unlocked 6 Rage achievements. If they do get reset, I'm just gonna start a new file. But I couldn't do that on Skyrim.

I really would have though the M$ would have a slightly better fraud team.
