Online game/film rental

Postby Venomous Albino on Thu Apr 07, 2011 3:54 pm

My fiancee and I are looking into using a website where you can rent games and films for a monthly fee, as in the long run it'll probably save us a lot of money. Obviously, I know all about LoveFilm and I know that Blockbuster have a similar service, but can anyone recommend a similar service that they use? Johnny Shoulder and Cerebral Wolf; I know that you two use such a service. Any recommendations?

boomerang rentals mate.

Have the most expensive package which is 30 quid a month, I only ever wait a day or two for games and I have 4 at a time and priority over customers with cheaper packages.

I've saved thousands of pounds I swear.... I've played more games and I've not been burnt by shitty purchases only problem is EA games and no project 10 dollar codes so you loose MP on some games but that don't bother me at all.

I use Boomerang too and can recommend them too.

Membership Packages here

I'm on the £10.99 Priority 1 package. I usually get games like CW said in a couple days, except when there is a high demand game in the top of my list. This then can take upto a week for the game to be sent out, but then I'm not too bothered about the wait as I've got enough unfinished games to be gettin on with.

You can purchase most games you rent, and they will send you the box and manual. Prices are usually on a par with the like of Amazon, Shopto.net, etc. I bought Just Cause 2 Limited Edition for £9.50 the other week. All the games I have bought from em have been in excellent condition.

There customer service is quite good, I've only had a couple of minor queries and they got back to me quickly. I got a free month rental out em once too.

I think they do a referral offer, it would be only fair to refer Wolf as he has been bangin on about this for a while now.

I rent films with Lovefilm, the only downside I found with there game rentals is that you can't purchase the game your are currently renting, which is surprising cos they are owned by Amazon.

I know Optikal uses Lovefilm and the only other forumite I can remember renting games is Dante.

Cheers for that guys. Does Boomerang do films as well, or just games?

Just games but with the way they keep expanding things i wouldn't be too surprised to see them do films in the future...

I might be a bit ignorant on the subject, but I think Lovefilm have the internet film rental market cornered. Anyone that still uses stores like Blockbuster is a fool or has money to burn.

Indeed, however their game selection is shitty...

so it makes sense for one of the game rental firms to dabble in films a little at some point.
