Did anyone else watch Top Gear? For the race; they went through some of my area and ended up at Princess Street, where Iain and I were last August.

Like you say, publicity stunt for ratings. As it turns out, the Ferrari they had on can only be driven by whoever owns it, aswell as having to be stored by Ferrari. Schumacher owns one, and I doubt anyone else who owns one would want to, or be interesting enough to, appear on Top Gear anyway. You can kinda tell anyway, the Stig has a different build to Schumacher.

A few months back some moron claimed he knew who the Stig was and the papers had it. The last time this happened, they killed him off, to be reborn as the new Stig. I reckon this is just a silly way of "unveiling" the stig so they dont have to get rid of the guy... Funny though, and Shumacher seemed really cool, came off as very likeable.

Its just to keep you interested, it was obvious that the Stig wasn't Schumacher anyway.

The one I've heard is that he is a Danish/Finnish (can't remember which) ex-rally driver

My uncle knows who he is, he's met him. All he'd tell me was he was English, some form of professional driver and did some of the Aston Martin stunts in Die Another Day.

Technically, it probably could be, but it's a track car first and foremost.

In one of Jezzas books he says that he has always hated schumacher, but in that episode he sucks up to Schumacher like hell. Sometimes Clarkson is painfully honest but at others he's two faced.
I bet the Stig is someone very obscure and if they revealed who he was it would be a massive anti climax, so they dont.
