The good Killing or the rubbish one? (It's not actually rubbish, but the good one is better. I fully expect Bob to come call me an emo girl cause I like something foreign, this is a pre-emptive fuck you.)

Also, if you truly believe that Firefly is one of the three best television seasons of all time you are a muggins.

You're both on the right track.
It's:

1) The Wire
2) Breaking Bad
3) Either Six Feet Under, Oz or Jam. Really can't decide.

The Danish one. Never bothered with the yank one.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Yeah, that's brilliant. Might make it to my top three but I dunno what one to knock off.

What is this 'The Killing'?

Worth checking out I take it...

Sounds worth a punt.

Just found a copy so will go for it seen as I've not got any decent series' left to watch (aside a few Breaking Bad episodes from the last series).

You pair seem to have pretty good taste so something you agree on should hopefully tickle my fancy :)

I've watched many foreign shows.

I also watched the american The Killing.

Firefly has an imdb user rating of 9.3 indicating possibly that if you're not an emo drug abuser it's quite a good show.

Oh that also rates it the same as The Sopranos and higher than the West Wing which means apparently Gug wouldn't know a good show if he had it tattooed on a body part.. and even if by chance he liked a good show he wouldn't know why it was good or be able to recognise an equally good show if it had a space ship in it.

It's a good show, no doubt. I like it a lot. However, it is unfinished (through no fault of it's own), the acting is shaky, the plot isn't as good as the likes of the Sopranos and The Wire. The audience doesn't have enough time to connect with the characters. It's nowhere near the top three greatest TV shows ever.

I love Firefly by the way, I also love Serenity. I'm also not an idiot.

And yet you've clearly not watched it well enough.

The show has plenty of time to connect with the audience.. in fact many of the episodes fill in back story or indicate why characters are like they are.. it's unfinished in so much as it was cancelled but then Wheedon tied it all up in the film so it's not.

The plot is fine for a serial with self contained episodes many of which would stand up to anything that you could throw at them and the acting is great .. nathan fillion is wonderful.

Like I said.. you might not think it's top three material but the fact that an average score rates it as high as the shows you like clearly shows that a. you're wrong and b. it is.

Wether it was unfinished due to be cancelled it's still unfinished. If the sopranos finished halfway through series one, series one would not be as good and thus not the completely fantastic show it is.

I'm not saying it's not brilliant, but it's not in the same league as other shows.

Nathan Fillion is a 33% man.

It may be good, but I'd suggest its high score isbecause it is the kind of thing that does attract ZOMG fanboys. See also Game of Thrones (have a look at the comments on a negative review of GoT on Amazon for some lurls).
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

What Clown said. One of the reasons why I hardly pay any attention to user ratings.
