Gaming peripherals...

Postby Cerebral_Wolf on Fri Jul 22, 2011 12:19 am

A friend of mine posted on facebook about a site called trueachievements, i was browing the site and found myself looking at Stallion's huge gamerscore on the 360 and i noticed on the right hand side that he's being sponsored by http://www.xtendyourgame.com/ and out of curiosity i had a look at the site and found what i think to be the most stupid gaming peripheral i've ever seen. Why would someone buy or use that? I can't personally work it out, it just seems like a waste of cash to me.

This got me thinking about other gaming peripherals that i've seen for sale over the years and more recently like the Razor Onza pad for the 360, the infamous nintendo power glove or even the "Kinect Game Boat".

Having said that i've got a pair of turtle beach headphones and they have made a nice difference to my online play and i've also heard good stuff about FPS Freek.

Do any of you Goons use any of this stuff? Has it made any difference to you?

Can you think of something you'd love to have as a peripheral?..

I often visit True Achievements to get some advice on achievements.

I agree with you Wofie, those extend play things seem pointless.

I got some skins on my controllers as my hands get quite sweaty on long gaming periods. They stop the gunge building up on em.

The turtle heads are good. I couldn't be dealing with the shonky ones you get with the console, they are a disgrace. It's just a ball ache to plug them in all the time. I could of got the wireless ones but they are more expensive and I can't be arsed with batteries.

It doesn't have batteries.. you just plug it in when you're finished to charge.

It gives a better sound quality too .. or at least I find it does. Way more comfortable and you're not attatched to the pad so you can go off without the controller and get somthing from the fridge or have a smoke and still chat.I

It's great.

Knowing my luck I'll end up having a piss with em still on! It would be like that scene in Naked Gun!

FPS Freaks take some getting used to, but I've not took them off in a year so they can't be that bad.

They make your aiming more precise, which is a good thing.

How worth it are they though?...

Did they improve your online experience you think?

They could be a placebo for all I know. I think they've made my aiming better, but to be honest I was already good to begin with.

Oh well. They weren't much.

I've found my aim to be quite bad since i've moved from PC gaming to console gaming. It's hard to get the level of precision i like..

FPS Freaks should help you there. I had to move up sensitivty a bit, then use the Freaks and it's kinda the same but with more precision...

Weird. But they seem to work.
