Unstarted/Unfinished Games

Postby Feski on Fri Feb 11, 2011 8:28 pm

So, my wife and I have a deal: no more games, new or otherwise, until I've cleared down the unfinished/unstarted pile -

I have 24 games which need attention; some new-ish, some old, some downright annoying, some which I couldn't get into for some reason or other and mostly because other games came into the house which over-ruled the current game in the tray.

After some of the forum discussions this week, some of the games mentioned have cropped up here, so I thought I'd give my reasons for games unfinshed and get your opinions on those games and any which you have outstanding and why.

DARK SECTOR - 2/3rds finished; over-ruled

RED FACTION: GUERRILLA - 2/3rds finished; over-ruled

OVERLORD II - 9/10ths finished; impervious boss

SPLINTER CELL: DOUBLE AGENT - Still on 1st level; over-ruled

ALONE IN THE DARK - 1st 5 minutes; utterly unplayable and clunky. 2nd chance then trade-in.

TIMESHIFT - 3/4 finished; impervious boss

SEGA RALLY - was hoping for 2 player split; over-ruled

FABLE II - 1/2 finished; over-ruled

NINJA GAIDEN II - unstarted

LOST PLANET: EXTREME CONDITIONS - 1/4 finished; impervious boss

THE LAST REMNANT - 1 hour in; over-ruled

THE DARKNESS - 1/3rd finished; over-ruled

MERCERNARIES 2 - got 1/2 way through and game gave me access to final level; over-ruled

DEAD RISING - unstarted

DiRT – ¼ finished; over-ruled

ASSASSIN’S CREED II – unstarted

GTA IV – ¾ finished; over-ruled

G.R.A.W. – unstarted

DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS – 4 hours in, frustrating controls; need to give it a 2nd chance

LOST ODYSSEY – unstarted

BIONIC COMMANDO – 9/10ths finished; impervious boss

KANE & LYNCH: DEAD MEN – unstarted

LOST PLANET 2 – catgory G Akrid kicking my buttoli

HALO WARS – unstarted

The wife wants to see Assassin’s Creed II up next, then I’ve got to see what all the fuss is with Dragon Age; I love a good Bioware yarn as much as the next man but DA just didn’t light my fire.

Finished all those.

I tend to trade/sell on ebay any games I aint finished and I know will never go back to. Far Cry 2, lost planet, Dirt, Assassins Creed, CODMW2 are the ones I can remember.

Games that I do wanna go back to eventually to finish are Singularity, Just Cause 2, Red Dead Redemption, Halo Wars, Forza 3, Prince of Persia, Darksiders, Fallout 3 (finished main game, just got a couple of the DLC's to finish)

I've only just recently finished GTAIV and Dead Space after about 18 months of not touching em.

I'd agree with your missus and go for AC2. Overall its a brilliant immersive game, let down slightly by the lame Desmond bits and slightly dodgy controls (especially in the Assassins Tombs).

You know when you say 'unstarted', does that mean you've started them and then, I dunno, deleted the save from your 360? :?

The wife tends to buy when she sees a bargain, so sometimes a handful of games land in my lap at once, so unstarted literally means 'not out of the box yet'!

I updated my gamer card for ya!

ACII is on - 60G for turning the game on - wahey! :D

I haven't played JC2 or Singularity and I'll probably ponce Forza 3 off my brother when 4 comes out.

Fallout 3 is one of my faves; I reran it with all the DLC before NV came out - 180 hour marathon, enjoyed every minute!

Play RF Geurilla, it's awesome!

Avoid Dead Rising 1... It's bad.

Yeah AC2 is pretty easy on the cheevos, think I got 700+ just for playing thru to the end.

JC2 is wicked fun. Terrible voice acting but this didn't detract from the enjoyment of the game one bit for me. Singularity is a decent game, my find of last year. Have a look at the First Play section of the forum, there will a thread for both of em. Bob has kindly done an index for us.

I'm delaying finishing F3 on purpose, I don't wanna it to end! Defo in my top 5 360 games.

The index is a bit good!

Might have to ponce Forza a bit sooner!

Don't think my list of games will be getting finished any time soon.

Just looked at my rental list. I've got about a dozen games from now until the end of April.

I used to find myself in this position - tons of games either unstarted or unfinished - especially when I had the old Xbox. Which is why I always try to have only 2 or 3 games on the go at once now. At the moment I only have Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project unfinished.

Why not just trade in the ones you've no interest in playing again?

Does your missus pay attention to what you're playing and what you've completed? I'd hit the roof if I thought I had to complete Kane & Lynch and Alone in the Dark before being able to buy anything else!

My missus hasn't a clue what I'm playing, never has done, never will do.

I'm still interested in these games, I just haven't seen them through to the end due to having other games to play. Also, I'm a keeper, not a trader!

The deal was imposed by me so that I could catch up on these titles - it's been bugging me having them just sitting there. I don't have to complete them but I'd like to, especially as they've been bought for me!

I know what you're saying though, if I had to finish the naff games before I could soak up some triple A titles, I'd be annoyed too!

I think I just got lucky with mine! :D

I can save you time get rid of alone in the dark now, it's fucking awful, If you want a quick achievement watch the opening cut scene without using the blinking prompt when it tells you then get rid.

Give the darkness some love. It's epic.
