If you're a fan of the ladyboys, then by all means go have the time of your life. It's not for me though.

I have to agree with this - if you dont have the internet then you aint getting half a game - seriously i would be happy to pay £25 and get COD MW for just single player and spec ops then only pay for the multiplayer when i am online.
Makes sense both ways surely.
Only people who play multi would pay multi - get it done M$

He can, but he prefers an X-Box not to be involved when he does.

Taking the cinema comparison a little further an adult ticket costs £8.80 that is for up to maybe 3 hours entertainment. You could spend £13.30 for VIP seating (collectors edition) and consider drinks and snacks to be the equivalent to DLC, adding to your experience but not essential for the entertainment. If you go off peak the price could be reduced to £7.20 but in any case there will be no chance to recoup the cost after the experience.
In comparison a game can be bought for £40 at launch sometimes less you can get in excess of 6 hours of entertainment with mutiplayer and DLC extending your entertainment beyond this. The multiplayer experience encourages consumers to hold onto the game. If you are just interested in the single player features once these are exhausted trading the game in will normally recoup at least half of the expense depending on how long you hold on to the game. Of course the longer you retain the game the more entertainment hours you should have gotten from it.
This doesn't include the outlay for purchasing the console and other peripherals but similar parallels could be drawn to DVD or Blu-Ray purchases.
The issue I do have is the fact that xbox DLC pricing isn't transparent. I should be able to immediately compare the price of maps and horse armour with the price of a pint down the local.

Its gonna be interesting to see how this all pans out in the future.
