This is my Quote Of The Month.

I'm sure it would breeze over the heads of a lot of peeps, but it really is quite good.
Bob: Nah.. Bill Hicks is over rated.. A by product of being dead.

CuriousTurtle: They should release him on PS3, then you'd love him.

Best game ever

Postby seeker9 on Tue Nov 27, 2007 11:50 am

The best game ever known to man has to be..... 2 player Bubble Bobble on the 48K spectrum. You can close this thread now as this is a fact NASA have verified from a space station on Mars.

It has to be Championship Manager.

Since the days of the first version on the Amiga through to present day. I've spent more time on these games than any other bar none.

The best coin-op conversion is on the PSone I still have it somewhere and it also has Rainbow Islands on the same disc... Spectrum version was bobbins because the joysticks only had one button.

My fave of all time is Rainbow Islands on the Amiga.

Most revolutionary for me was Doom. They fixed all the network online issues from Wolfenstein. (At least mostly) :D

Shenmue is my favourite game of all time. Although I avoid playing it ever again because I have the feeling it won't have aged well and my nastalgia will be ruined.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours I can come back to.

It's a tough one, whenever I find a dead-cert favourite game another one pops into my head.

To illustrate how fickle I am when it comes to this, my current favourite is Final Fantasy 3 (even though I'm stuck, having got my third set of jobs and trying to keep my dudes alive enough for them to level without the right armour >_>), whereas a few months ago it was (I think) Oblivion.

Im very partial to Knights of the Old Republic - certainly the story was awesome and it's one of the few Star Wars success stories - sorry, only success story.

However I think for me it has to be Ocarina of Time - I still play it to this day and consider it far more entertaining that alot of the **** available today.

Ocarina was good, with the fabled Water Temple....

I have loads of fav games.... I think one of the cleverest games ever done was Soul Reaver.. Legacy of Kain on the Ps1, Fear Effect 1 and 2, Kurushi are also personal Ps1 favourites.

Ah yeah the water temple - God I couldn't stand to be near pools for the next few weeks.

Cheers. Only one I've played is SR but can see why you enjoyed it. I've always enjoyed playing the darker heroes.

You'd probably enjoy Fear Effect 1 and 2, the lead character was a lesbian assassin for the Triads, she had a past of abuse, prostitution etc...

People talk about homosexuality in games as if its a new subject...

Might look into them then thought the drive on my PS2's acting up.

Characters with a darker background tend to be more engaging. There certainly is more depth to them.

As for homosexuality and it being "new" I think that is largely down to:

a) the new generation of gamers

and

b) people who are new to games, brought into the industry by the likes of the Wii and as such have no back catalogue of games experience.

Dude.. It's not often we disagree but on this you're wronger than a furry mammal that hibernates, likes picnic baskets and pear cider.

It's probably not one of the all time great shooters but it's a fantastic adventure with excellent production values and an interesting story. Great game.

What didn't you like about it?
