It’s about time we got some classics

It’s about time we got some classics
If you’re anything like us you will have lapped up the recent remake of The Secret Of Monkey Island when the special edition was released on XBLA. Now that the first one is out the door it’s clear the popularity of LucasArt’s back catalogue of point and click adventures is as high as ever. With that in mind we give you our top 5 adventure games that we want remade or at least made available on XBLA…

Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck’s Revenge
Following Guybrush Threepwood on yet another grand adventure Monkey Island 2 is considered to be the greatest point and click adventure ever produced. With a whole host of classic puzzles and hilarious dialogue this is perfectly placed for success on Live and those of you who haven’t enjoyed this classic sequel and it’s controversial ending should really seek it out.

The Curse Of Monkey Island
Though it’s not considered the best Monkey Island game, Curse is X360′s favourite. With an updated visual style Curse wowed audiences when it was released and really gave the impression of playing an interactive cartoon. It was also the first to use the now iconic voice acting. This is still an incredible adventure and one we hold in a special place in our hearts.

Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis
If you’re looking for an Indiana Jones game then The Fate Of Atlantis should always be your first port of call. An early (ish) entry into the point and click genre, Atlantis has everything an adventure fan would want framed in the classic Jones universe, why this hasn’t been remade yet we’ll never know.

Full Throttle
Classic biker action, and a clear prelude to Schafer’s Brutal Legend, this is another adventure game that remains a firm favourite among fans. With its Road Rash style combat sections and tough lead character, Full Throttle was a near future, biker master piece.

The Dig
A slightly less well known adventure game The Dig came from a prestigious background which included the likes of Spielberg. One of the only serious point and click adventures it was a story that saw astronauts try and stop an asteroid colliding with earth, blockbuster movie style. A excellent serious adventure that would be perfectly suited for Live.
Like our list, why not tell us what adventure game you’d like to see on Live?

I would love to see all of these games come to XBLA. I’d probably guy every one. Especially The Dig. I remember spending countless hours with it as a kid. It has an awesome atmospheric quality to it that I’d love to see rereleased.
