This has prompted us to go on a video games stat-finding frenzy – outside the world of MMOs of course, the likes of which sport juggernaut statistics that embarrass the 360 equivalents. But here are some curious morsels we’ve dug up anyway.

3.6 million units sold in 24 hours… for Grand Theft Auto IV on 29 March 2008. 609,000 were sold over the same time period in the UK alone.

6.9 Kilometres… for the tallest base jump in Just Cause 2 (by player TacticalShino). The real world record is 828 metres off Dubai’s Burj Khalifa Tower.

28 billion zombies killed… in Left For Dead 2 (28,981,249,043 on 12February). That’s 4.26 times the Earth’s human population.

12 million hours… were logged by Halo 3 beta testers. That’s nearly 1,400 years of playtime.

80,000 B.C…. the date you’d have to travel to if you were to clock the total time the world has spent playing the 360. We had just started domesticating dogs back then.

10 million RROD’s… nearly a quarter of the 40 milllion 360 consoles sold since launch have failed.
