Inversion Mixes Gravity Guns With Co-op

It’s time 2010 started showing itself to be a better year than 2009!

As the year slowly starts building up momentum it’s to take a look at some of the lesser known titles that may or may not be worth getting excited about. Stepping straight into that category is Inversion, a game that looks like a cross between Psi-Ops and Crackdown with maybe a pinch of Gears thrown in. That may sound like a great idea but the story is as cliched as they come with an alien invasion and missing child.

Where Inversion gets slightly more exciting is in its use of shooting and physics based weaponry. See, the aliens that are invading have brought along a whole bunch of toys that send everything from cars, trucks, and dumpsters flying. Think of it like the gravity gun from Half-life 2, with more things to pick up than saw blades and barrels. Add into the mix a co-op buddy and physics based hilarity should ensue.

2010 already has a pretty packed calendar, is there room for titles such as Inversion when shooters like Bioshock and RPG’s like Mass Effect 2 are hitting shelves? Perhaps, but 2010 is looking busy, what does everyone think of Inversion, hit or miss?

I’m not interested in bioshock or mass effect 2, there’s been far too many single player fps’ lately and not enough co-op one’s, so i intend to keep an eye out for potentially good co-op games like this
