GTA V: What The Hardcore Fans Are ExpectingThis time, things will be different

GTA V news is just around the corner. We can feel it.

With Rockstar going dark since releasing the impressive GTA V trailer, rumours regarding the latest game in the blockbuster series have popped up all over the internet.

Which ones can you believe though, and who are the trustworthy sources?

The truth is, only Rockstar knows for sure which direction it’s taking its latest game, but that hasn’t stopped us rounding up some industry types to find out what they think about GTA V and its new direction.

Here’s a run down of what many in the industry think GTA V will look and play like…

WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING OUT OF GTA V?

Chris Phillips (founder of TheGTAPlace.com): “I’d really like to see a military presence in GTA V. The return of tanks and military aircraft pursuing you in the wake of your epic path of destruction will always be an awesome “Holy shit, this is badass” experience. And in multiplayer – flying the Hydra and engaging in dogfights with your mates would be a lot of fun.”

Andy McIlwain (founder of GTANet.com): “Bring back the satire. Realism is great, but one of the strongest elements of Grand Theft Auto is the satirical take on American culture.”

Rumoured former-Rockstar employee: “GTA V’s protagonist will be the previously rumoured Albert De Silva and his son, Kevin De Silva, will feature too. Multiplayer will consist of 32 players with online games vying for reputation and territory across various heists and modes in Los Santos. Gunfights will be more realistic, with a broader, more varied range of police measures across the wanted ratings. Drug use will also be included in a similar way to how it was in GTA: San Andreas.”

FROM WHAT WE’VE SEEN SO FAR, WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT?

GTA V: What The Hardcore Fans Are Expecting

Chris Phillips: “GTA fans are relentless in their search for clues relating to literally anything in an upcoming release. At the moment, speculation on the map (size, real life locations that will be in game, and will San Fierro and/or Las Venturas be added as DLC) is a big talking point. As for features, people are obviously excited about being able to fly planes again and the fact this suggests the map will be a lot bigger to warrant their inclusion. The possibility of playing as multiple characters, new vehicles and weapons, and the inclusion of animals such as dogs are all frequently discussed. The list of things to talk about goes on and on.”

Andy McIlwain: “It’s definitely between the setting and the protagonist. We have a massive thread of users comparing Los Santos to real-world Los Angeles, and there’s at least half a dozen characters from the trailer that fans have identified as being potential playable characters.”
