Darksiders II Dev Working On ‘Suprise’ New Game
Darksiders II is out and receiving rave reviews, but what will Vigil Games do next? We caught up with the team to find out what life is like after Death…
Life after Death
Darksiders II has received positive reviews across the board, but where does that leave Vigil Games now?
We caught up Darksiders II’s Creative Manager, Jeremy Greiner, its Art Director, Han Randhawa and its Lead Designer, Hayden Dalton to talk about the games development and what happens next.
You can read the full transcript of our post-mortem with the team in our latest issue, but for a glimpse into what Vigil Games is moving onto next, we asked the guys directly…
X360: Now that you’ve finished development of Darksiders II, what’s next for Vigil Games?
Jeremy Greiner: ‘What’s next?’ And that’s different for me as I straddle multiple IPs so I’m already working on another game, which I can’t talk about! But, you guys are going into concepting soon or just worrying about DLC?
Hayden Dalton: It’s a bit of both, yeah. Obviously, DLC is our first focus because we want to support the game and I think once people get a taste of the world I think they’ll want some extra content. We’ve got ideas kicking around on what we want to do next but we also need to keep it open and see how Darksiders II does.
We’re also looking at some pretty cool and interesting ideas that I think are going to surprise a lot of people.
Han Randhawa: Yeah, I was going to say that the Darksiders franchise feels like it could expand in so many different ways, there are so many different rabbit holes we could go down, it’s just huge. Everything we’ve been thinking about all sounds super exciting so we’re all excited, whatever comes next.
