This week saw the release of Starcraft II : Wings of Liberty on the PC. At the moment it appears to be getting positive buzz, but we’re convinced that it could be even better on 360. Here’s why:

1. Better Controls.
As has been proven by science, the 360′s analogue pad is simply better equipped for handling the intricacies of FPS and RTS gameplay than the PC’s mouse. The reasoning is simple: how can a motion where you have to move your entire arm and hand be more precise than just rotating a thumb? It can’t: John Romero and John Carmack were rumoured to split over this very argument (with Romero definately in no way shape or form said that Daikatana would have been a hit with two analogue sticks) and as Jerome B Braithwatewatewate at the London Institute for Enhanced Synthetics (L.I.E.S) maintained in his widely acknowledged white paper “Why people on the internet won’t read any of this and go straight to the comments (1986)”: “When we move our entire arms, our brain has a reaction called ‘HyperTensiveInternet-basedCrybabying’. When we move an analogue stick with just our thumbs, endorphins are released to the brain, classified as Instinctive Reactionary Superiority Complexes, (which are generally found in those who are on internet forums a lot) helping us to play better and respond better. You can’t argue with science.
2. Avatar Integration.
Since it was launched, the Avatar Marketplace has been a wonderful endeavour that has brightened the lives of many, and certainly the bank accounts of Microsoft. As such, we’re certain that Starcraft would be even better with Avatars in it. Imagine an army of Protosstates attacking, all the while armed with novelty lightsabers and Dont B Nervous Talking 2 Girls Backpacks! Or a Zerg rush comprised of $400 pieces of digital Barbie clothing?! There’s also the possibility of tying it all in to the Korean Starcraft phenomenon and handing out free Avatar T-shirts as prizes, or advertising a wealth of gaudy intangible bullsh*t during commercial breaks!
3. Better Graphics.
As has been known for some time, Xbox 360 is the most graphics machine on the planet. How can it be that PCs, which have to be upgraded all the time just to compete with Xbox’s superior grafix, can claim to have better looking games? Simple: it can’t. The 360 could make Starcraft even better than it already looks: with a 526Mb of RAM (remember, 526 is at least four times the size of the number 8, which is the recommended RAM for StarCraft PC). Imagine it: at 15 FPS and 640p, StarCraft could really fly.
4. Better Online.
Battle.Net is pretty cool and all, but let’s get down to it: Live is a better service than any other. The fact that you had to pay for it should tell you something about its quality, because paying for something automatically makes it better than not. Also, it has been proven by that peer-to-peer gaming is better than dedicated servers: the National Office of Totally Astounding Factually Accurate Computer Teachings (NOTAFACT) has even cleared this, and ex-Nintendo of America boss Julius H Poppycock even went on record as saying: “Don’t you think it’s suspicious that I would even be commenting on a PC game supposedly appearing on an rival’s console? Hmm?”
So there you have it: why we think about why Starcraft II would be better on 360.

1) A mixture of keyboard and mouse is faster as you can make quicker judgments whether that’s selecting individual units or click on a certain points of the map.

3) Developers push the edge of technology, it’s called innovation. Doom 3 and Crysis are perfect examples of games that look great but were ahead of their time. I am really confused how you even came to that conclusion…

I own a xbox 360 I find you article to be completly biased. (This is directed at “thedeal”)
Reason 1 – The ps3 is superior (well neck on neck but its still better) to the xbox 360 but as everyone knows coomputer graphics trumps all. Yes indeed you have to upgrade but that is for you to decide what you want to do with your money by purchasing new parts.
Reason 2 – Better controls?! HA!! Have you even played a game on the computer? Doesn’t matter if its FPS or RTS you do not have to move your whole arm all the time. Also mice are more accurate to any joystick. All in all controllers do not and will not work for an RTS game on any console, Keyboard and Mouse is the only way you can have a proper experience by playing an RTS fast. Granted the joystick way can be used in games where you take turns to move units but is still not as useful to a mouse and keyboard.
Reason 3 – Online. Just becuase you pay for online doesn’t mean that you can say that “because paying for something automatically makes it better than not”. “Also, it has been proven by that peer-to-peer gaming is better than dedicated servers”, This has not been proven. Just becuase the ps3 and xbox 360 use peer to peer more often that dedicated servers does not automatically make it superior to dedicated servers. Have you seen the flame wars and disputes when they announced that MW2 will not have dedicated servers. The main reason about dedicated servers are that when you look at the list of games and can see their stats e.g. ping etc. This gives you the freedom of choosing a game with a low ping so that you will get barely any lag rather than having a random person be the host who may or may not have a good internet connection.
In summary I belive that the writer of this article has not played pc games or if so has played them very little.

What science? How does an analog stick beat a mouse when it comes to FPS and RTS games? Any console player vs a PC player for any FPS or RTS, the PC player will win. The mouse has better accuracy, period.

B. Why 640p? For one, 640p isn’t even a standard HD resolution.
C. If you are running ANYTHING in true high definition, it must have a resolution of at least 1280×720 (720p) with an FPS of 23.976 to be considered true HD.
4. Better Online
The 360 is limited to what Microsoft wants. No custom maps (I mean real custom maps, none of that model-spawning “map making” BS Halo 3 has to offer) and no custom mods.
So there you have it: why ‘TheDeal’ is an idiot.

There’s only 4 reasons here. You’re short one. Beyond that the logical fallacies and straight up untruths sink the rest of the article, for example, analog sticks suck for RTS’s, The avatar idea is just dumb, I have a pc that I got for $1000, (Canadian dollars at that) which has better graphics then the xbox 360 and I haven’t tried the new battle.net but I can’t follow the writers “if you pay for it, it must be better” mentality. OF course none of you guys are pc gamers to say that the 360 has comparable graphics to PC is so far from the truth! A PC does more than just play video games and thats why 512 MB is not enough. The 360has only DX 9 graphics compared to nowdays DX 11 graphics cards. Mouse and keyboard offer better and precise controls not to mention that you have way more buttons on the keyboard compared to a controller. No PC gamer wants to spend money for online service. It has not been the case except for MMOs. Obviously you only got a 360 to play on and besides, who wants to play Starcraft 2 at 720p upscaled to 1080p while on the PC you could 2560×1600.
Yeah sure and for that I am Playing Call Of Duty MW2 with Full Graphics and with 54x Antialising something that xbox would never acomplished having in mind that its games r about only 4x antialising, oh and no it didnt cost me 5000 it actually cost me around $200 bucks for the only graphic card; http://www.nvidia.com/object/buy_now_results_ci.html?id=GFGTX465 and about $700 bucks for the full computer with 3d glasses so if u dont know anything about hardware u might just keep urself shut

Dude I sooooo hope you are not a troll because (if you are than I am wasting my time) if not then I’m going to have to slap your parents for not aborting you. A lot of Xbox games have to run in sub-hd (meaning it runs below 720p) while most decent PCs can run most games in an hd resolution. Another thing games like Metro 2033 look like 10x better on PC then on 360 and the Ps3. Don’t believe me here is screen shot comparisons of 360 and PC (http://n4g.com/news/492476/metro-2033-pc-vs-xbox-360-graphic-comparison-shows-major-differences). This is my last point, but my computer, which cost me aroud $450, can run most pc games that are also on the 360 in HD and with better graphics.

I say that the PC is an obsolete piece of equipment (like you’re balls) and needs to be superseded by the technologically superior Xbox 360. All the PC is good for these days is going on Facebook, and you can do that on the Xbox 360. Second of all, while the analog stick on the 360 has a good design, it can’t scratch the reputation of the mouse’s speed and accuracy. If you disagree, you’re using the wrong mouse.

Fifth, I won’t argue for Battle.net 2.0 against Xbox Live. All I can say is that at least Bnet doesn’t have adds everywhere, and at least it’s free to play, while still managing to be a very capable online system.

Also, I own all the consoles, including handhelds, and a decent gaming pc, so this isn’t fanboyism. I enjoy my 360, and it has pros that the PC does not. You just managed to miss all of those.

… Are you kidding me? Really? This is just a pure opinion. It varies from person to person. Try telling someone like Flash or any of those Koreans that play Starcraft like fucking bosses if they prefer analog over mouse. Tell any real FPS player if they prefer mouse over Analog. And don’t come crying with Halo or Call of Duty. I mean REAL FPSes.

As you say, you get what you pay for. Only that this isn’t true. You can build a PC buying from Newegg that’ll cost you about 1000 bucks that outruns the Xbox 360 and PS3 and will stay like that for a long time. Running 15 frames per second on 640p? Don’t make me laugh. With a shitty Nvidia GT9800 I run 60fps on highest quality for mostly any game.
4. Better online-

well, the only problem i see is that putting this on the xbox would mean stripping an extremely crucial element to all rts’s which are hotkeys. hotkeys are what makes players average and above and point and click players will never stand a chance against users of hotkeys. well unless they work out insane button combos then im not convinced

But i really don’t see the point of the article, the 360 has never done a true top down RTS well so the 360 gamers have no need to complain about the lack of this game on their console.
