Great article.

Kinect is an interesting peripheral for me. I would be considered a "core" gamer spending 25 hours plus per week on most of the 360's core games. I bought kinect because I was interested in the technology and wanted to see what it can do.

After my initial excitement of getting kinect and seeing what it can do I now find myself sticking to my core games mostly and dipping into a kinect title whenever I feel to0 much like a couch potato, feel like something different or have some friends round for beers and want to have a bit of a laugh.

For me the first real core game for kinect was child of eden which I think was a great(maybe underated and forgotten about?) game for showing off what kinect can really excel at, sure sometimes when it didn't quite pick up my body movements I felt frustrated but then this was the first real experiment at what kinect is capable of and only a toe in the water of what it can really do. I'm looking forward to trying out the gunstringerat some point and hope it does much the same for me.

As for kinect being integrated into core game such as mass effect 3, halo combat anniversary, forza 4 etc this is one thing I am not so sure about, I personally would much rather hope to keep these separate. If there is an option for kinect owners to turn the voice commands in me3 off then that is what I'll be choosing for sure I don't even want to try that out.

All in all I think kinect is great for the 360, it's there if you want it and I'm really happy using it the way I use it (i've even started getting lazy and got used to saying xbox kinect, xbox play disc etc without feeling like a douche) so I feel it was a worthwhile investment. I'm hoping in the future you can plug kinect into the next gen 360 because I feel that's when we'll really see what this tech is capable off.
