Watch out for the Splash Damage!
Richard Ham, creative director at Splash Damage talks us through some of Brink's finer points...
Multiplayer has for many people become the reason why they invest in a game, is Brink’s ambition to marry single and multiplayer a reaction to this?
Actually, our fusion of single and multiplayer gaming came about for the opposite reason. We think there are still too many players out there who love solo shooter gameplay, but never go online once they’ve finished ...
Fired Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West have agreed to be represented by the Creative Artists Agency. The top Hollwood talent agency has sided with the duo after Zampella and West filed a $36 million lawsuit against Activision claiming wrongful dismissal and breach of contract.
And the everything-but-official official date is...
Will I wave my sword if I'm simply reaching for my beer?
Whatever your thoughts and feelings over Natal, it's hard not to give over just a little bit of excitement for Lionhead and Fable III. Now that it's been revealed ex-Python and all round funny man John Cleese will be providing the voice of your own personal butler, the steam roller of hype has already begun. We've no doubt Cleese will provide ...
Yeah, I'm that hard I'm going to beat you to death with my own arm!
Violence and videogames is nothing new, it's always popping up in the mainstream media every now and again (you know when election season rolls around or there's nothing else news worthy out there). So, it's a little promising to see a developer already on the offensive when it comes to the violence in their game.
Nigel Cook, executive producer ...
Capcom revealed the final character in the Super Street Fight IV roster last night in San Francisco.
Perhaps the world's most followed developer Robert Bowling (known to Twitter users as fourzerotwo) has just announced that a small title by the name of Modern Warfare two has reached the two million player milestone, presumably across all formats. In addition, it appears we're to expect an announcement on Downloadable Content for everyone's favourite insanely scripted war title some time later on this week. We're on tenterhooks. Not literally, like - we'd be in agony…
They're coming outta the DLC!

"Bodycount rips apart the first person shooter as genre-defining gunplay comes alive in a balletic orgy of bullets and destruction"
Once again, the team behind the last-gen visceral shooter 'Black' are back on the FPS-wagon with their new title: Bodycount. Codemasters Studios, headed up by Black co-designer Stuart Black, is helping Bodycount look like a spiritual successor far more than anything else and is promising all the same press release bullet points as Black did all those years ago. Crazy action ...
Who needs a PC when Crytek can get Crysis 2 running on your 360!
Obviously, these screens won't literally blow you away, that would be stupid, but they do look mighty impressive. The much anticipated Crysis 2, now for consoles, is finally starting to look like it might, just possibly, actually be able to work on the clearly inferior 360 technology. Not that were dismissing our beloved Xbox or anything, but compared to the ridiculous PC rigs required to run the original ...
No, he's nothing like the Master Chief...
The first batch of screenshots of Platinum Game's promising looking sci-fi third person shooter have begun to emerge and it's looking as curious as ever. With it's transforming suit and at war super powers (Russia and America, again!) fighting other resources it could be argued that it's lacking in the originality departments. But, there's just something about these shots that says stomping around in this suit is going to be awesome fun....
Good bye Tomb Raider and hello Lara Croft... again
Square Enix came out today and announced that Crystal Dynamics, long running saviours of the Tomb Raider games, is working on a new title. The 'hinting at a reboot' Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light is going to be interesting for a few reasons. Firstly, because it's a reboot of a much loved franchise and secondly because it won't be a traditional release ...
The curse of the movie licence... wwhhooo, spooky
Let's face it, movie licenced games tend to suck. There may have been a time when we all looked forward to the latest Spider-man game, but now, who are we kidding, now we generally couldn't care less.
That's why we spoke to Clash Of The Titans producer, Tomoaki Nanjo about the difficulties of developing games based on movies...
"I believe there are 3 major points we need ...
I ain't scared of no... Necromorphs?
Dead Space 2 may be a long way off but the original left us so traumatised we're getting ourselves ready for the inevitable horror onslaught now. The first Dead Space managed to blend lots of sci-fi staple cliche's and terror into a unique and horrible experience, but according to Ian Milham, Art Director on Dead Space 2, the sequel is moving away from the more obvious inspirations...

Before the doors are even open, we're learning of some new juicy games...
In an interview over on IGN, THQ CEO Brian Farrell (phew) has come over all game happy and confirmed that we will indeed be seeing sequels to some of the publishers biggest games of last year. That means Saints Row 3, a new Red Faction and even the Russia invades America (yet again!) Homefront.
Not a bad line-up all things considered but it's interesting that he doesn't confirm Red Faction ...
